An unplanned lunch choice ended up to be a 6-course one. As a reward after the city hike and also as the bebeh’s birthday treat, we winded up at Mouth Restaurant initially for a 3-course meal but a look at the 6-course Boston Lobster & Seafood Set menu made us cancel the previous order right away!
This has got to be one of the most fun and impromptu birthday ever! Few days prior to March 11, S made a reservation at Riders Cafe, since she felt the birthday girl who loves brunch food deserves a scenery she will enjoy. The bestie who shares the same birthday as me decided to join us! It was such a pity though… that 2 birthday girls have no honour of getting the balcony view because Riders Cafe is very strict on the first come first served policy; reservation doesn’t count.
A part of the more industrialized area of Singapore has been flourishing over the recent years, seeing an increase on the opening of hipster, modern cafes and restaurants, as well as new developments. When I was still working in Ubi, we used to love driving out to Macpherson where the famous Prawn Noodles and Herbal Soup nestle. Man, the office crowd was overwhelming! That said, this is also the reason why the eateries in the area have been doing well.
Once in a while, I liked to set up casual meetings or after work chill-outs having a light drink over some food, but the choice of a nice pub or bistro was what was lacking… until Growlers Craft Beer & Bistro opened!
If you are an absolute craft beer lover, you will be elated to know that you can now “tabao” (takeaway) your beer in 2000ml!
I haven’t been able to find an affordable hotpot place around my place until Man Le Hotpot sprang up in newly revamped Downtown East at Pasir Ris! I love hotpot so much and even though Jpot is just a few minutes walking distance for me, it doesn’t make sense to me having to spend $100+ for 2 pax for my almost-insatiable soup craving! And I can easily pig out 2-3 hours whenever I have steamboat.
My recent palate infatuation has got to be the bean curd tarts from Honolulu Cafe! Paired with their signature HK Iced Milk Tea, it makes the perfect teabreak menu!
Honolulu Café has come up with a confection of 100% bean curd with no added preservatives and artificial flavourings. The silky smooth bean curd is made in-house from scratch and encased in a buttery melt-in-mouth shortcrust pastry.
